The Book
The book is the first comprehensive photographic guide to the painted medieval panels of saints on rood screens in East Anglia – some 1200 in all
The book is arranged by the individual saints with some comments on their lives and the iconography associated with them. Other representations of the saints in stained glass, carving and wall painting have been added
The book is 320 pages long. It has an introduction and a conclusion, both of a few pages, together with a number of appendices

The Author
Michael Hodges read Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford. He spent 40 years as an investment banker. He is married to Veronica. He is a trustee of the Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, a Deputy Lieutenant of Wiltshire and the architectural correspondent of the Catholic Herald
